Daniel Bates is the newest addition to Thorn Run Partners, a lobbying firm opened in January by Democrat Andy Rosenberg and Republican Chris Lamond, who left Ogilvy Government Relations to start their own shop. Bates will be a partner, splitting his time between Washington and Portland, Ore., where he most recently served as the city's chief lobbyist. Before that, he spent five years in the legislative practice group at Patton Boggs.
